For Ages: Grades 1 – 6
Our before and after school program offers care to children in grade 1 – 6. We have many centers of interest and activities that are implemented and available each day. Our program thrives on ensuring that we are meeting each child’s interests, needs and abilities at all times.
Centers of interest include:
- House center
- Art center
- Floor toys
- Quiet center
- Homework corner
Multi-media
We are pleased to offer computer assistance for homework, projects and special interests. We are unable to print assignments or articles, but we will help your children access correct and appropriate information.
We have an in indoor play space where the children can play games of hockey, soccer, play group and team activities with supervision and guidance. The children have access to scooters, parachutes, balls, hula hoops, tennis and equipment for outdoor play.
We have clubs where the children can sign up to explore and expand their curiosity and talent in areas such as:
- Film Club
- Drama Club
- Art Club
- Cooking Club
Our weekly and daily activities are formed using the emergent curriculum where the children are involved in planning and being part of our program in areas they are interested.
The children are escorted to and from school. While parents provide a nutritious lunch, a snack is provided by Cottage in the morning before the children are escorted to school and again in the afternoon when they return from school. Many fun and interesting themes are planned for holiday weeks and professional development (PD) days when the children come to Cottage all day long.
